2026 Lego Contest

Thank you for supporting us!

Your LEGO® builds helped us build awareness and appreciation for neurodivergent job seekers in STEAM!

At Level It Up and Specialisterne Canada, we are dedicated to promoting the gifts, talents, and aptitudes of the neurodivergent community. Every year, we showcase that creativity in our Lego contest, allowing our builders and contest sponsors to be recognized and celebrated.

This year we had a record number of entries and voters in our contest. It was exciting to see the creativity, imagination and community participation in this fun event.

Check out this year’s winners below…

How our contest works

Both Level It Up and Specialisterne Canada love helping skilled autistic job seekers together with their employers build careers in science, technology, engineering, the arts and math. We also love Lego! What better way to promote your creativity as a Lego Builder and our dedication to promoting the gifts, talents and aptitudes of autistic job seekers and their employers than by staging a contest where your Lego builds earn you prizes and recognition through our social media channels.

Original designs were submitted and our builders encouraged their friends and family to vote for their model. We kept a running tally and provided regular updates on our top performers. Bonus points went to builds that included and described aspects of autistic lived experience.

2026 Prize Categories

We’re looking for original “MOCs” (My Own Creations)—no kit builds, please! Show us your imagination.

Theme 1: Build your own monster or character in honour of the new LEGO® Pokémon sets

Theme 2: Architecture – Build a structure, real or imagined.

Theme 3: Story & Community – Use bricks to tell a story or show us your favorite place.

Theme 4: Recreate a Piece of Art – Depict a masterpiece not yet featured in official LEGO® sets.

Theme 5: Nature & Science – Explore biology, physics, or the deep reaches of space.

No kit builds are excepted – we want you to show us what you can do with your creativity and imagination.

VOTING & AWARDS: TWO WAYS TO WIN!

Once the builds were live, the power was in the hands of the community! We had two classes of awards to recognize our builders’ impact and skills.

1. The People’s Choice Awards – 5 Prizes of $500 LEGO® Gift Certificates (or equivalent cash value) – 1 prize per category.

  • The Goal: Celebrate and acknowledge the skill and imagination of the participating builders!
  • How it works: Visitors to our site get one FREE vote per day. This is about rallying your friends, family, and social media followers to show their love for your creation.
  • The Prize: $500 LEGO® Gift Certificates (or equivalent cash value), Official “People’s Choice” Digital Badge and a featured spotlight on our socials.

2. *NEW* The Community Champion Award

The Prize: A special LEGO-themed prize pack.

The Goal: Fundraising impact!

How it worked: Want to “Level Up” a build’s ranking? Every $1 donated through supporting a particular builder counts as one “Boost Vote.”

Donations through Specialisterne’s donation page could be ear-marked for boost votes towards a specific entry. Example: A $20 donation = 20 Boost Votes!

There were 4 Simple Steps to enter the contest:

  1. Fill out the official contest application form.
  2. Upload 3 photos to showcase your build
    • To ensure a fair competition, all entries must be physical builds. AI-generated images will be disqualified. We reserve the right to request additional photos of the build from a different angle if authenticity is questioned.
    • We want to see the real deal! In one of your three photos, please place a common object (like a coin, a pen, or even your hand) next to your build. This helps us see the scale of your creation and confirms it’s a physical build made by you!
  3. Pay the $10 entry fee to officially join the race.

Voter Power: Once your build is live, encourage your friends, family, and fans to vote for your model on the Level it Up website! We’ll be sharing regular updates on the top performers.

Join us in 2027 for your chance to sponsor, enter, vote and donate!
